Porsche Panamera GTS Returns with Driver-Focused Goodies, Twin-Turbo V-8

The chassis sits 0.39 inches lower than other Panamera models and Porsche Adaptive Suspension Management (PASM) dampers are included as part of the standard Air Suspension package. We're excited to say it's time to whip out your party hats because the folks from Stuttgart pulled the wraps off of the Panamera GTS and GTS Sport Turismo on Monday.

You'll be doing 292km/h flat out in the Panamera GTS, and 289km/h in the Sport Turismo GTS.

Porsche's GTS cars are a pleasing middle ground, aiming to balance the raw nature of their hard-charging Turbo overlords with the more comfortable modus operandi of the standard models.

Like the GTS models of old, it's pretty much business as usual: bits and bobs from across the range and plenty of options all thrown in with the addition of an alcantara steering wheel and lots of red stitching to keep people who like driving happy.

Further marking out its unique identity is a Sport Design exterior package featuring numerous black and dark-coloured trim elements, and bespoke 20-inch wheels.

As is typical with a GTS-trim vehicle, the standard equipment list is a greatest hits album of the standard Panamera's options list.

The new Porsche Panamera GTS has been revealed, slotting in below the full-fat Turbo model and boasting some 338 kW from its twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8 heart. A set of 390-mm front brakes and 365-mm rear brakes keep stopping distances short as well. There are no interruptions in tractive force as power is transmitted to the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system by the eight-speed PDK dual clutch gearbox. First time in a GTS will be heads-up display and digital Porsche Advanced Cockpit.

Created to reflect the sporting prowess of the Panamera GTS models, the chassis systems are impressively dynamic.

As is tradition at Porsche, GTS stands for Gran Turismo Sport.

Like any new P-car, the Porsche Panamera GTS isn't cheap. This was followed by the 924 GTS and 928 GTS, which cultivated the concept throughout the 1980s and 90s.

In the United Kingdom, pricing starts at £105,963 for the Panamera GTS and £108,110 for the Panamera GTS Sports Turismo (including VAT).
