DES MOINES, Iowa After almost three months without a victor, the Mega Millions lottery game has climbed to an estimated $654 million jackpot. The big jackpots could mean lines at some ticket locations as the drawings near. No one has won since July and the next drawing is Tuesday, Oct. 16, and the grand prize is $654 million. It's $345 million, or $199 million in cash.

Burdess and Vandiver had all five white ball numbers (4, 24, 46, 61 and 70), and only lacked having the Megaball number of 7 or they would have won the $548 million jackpot.

The Mega Millions record prize of $656 million goes back to March 30, 2012, when winners from Illinois, Kansas and Maryland split the cash three ways.

No ticket matched the six winning numbers in Friday's Mega Millions drawing, pushing the jackpot up from $548 million to a whopping $654 million.

Several months' worth of rain: French flash floods claim lives
Thousands were being evacuated from the area, where officials said up to seven months' worth of rain had fallen overnight. We're going to have to use aircraft to evacuate them because we can not reach them by boat given the force of the water.

Tickets for both games are $2.

While the jackpot stands at the fourth largest potential jackpot in U.S history, jackpot for the next Powerball will be $345 million for the drawing this Wednesday.

Last week, Powerball suffered a minor setback when the drawing was moved from Tallahassee, Florida, to Urbandale, Iowa, because of evacuations from Hurricane Michael.
