Verne Troyer’s Cause of Death Revealed

Verne Troyer’s Cause of Death Revealed

The L.A. County Coroner's office has ruled Verne Troyer's death as a suicide.

"The manner of death was certified as a suicide".

Troyer weighed just 3.9st (55lbs) and arrived at the hospital with a blood-alcohol level above 300mg/ml - enough to be fatal for some adults.

Post-mortem toxicology testing was not performed due to "prolonged hospitalization", the report stated. ("Sequelae" means "a condition that is the effect of a previous disease or injury.") When the 49-year-old was taken from his North Hollywood home to the hospital, it was reported that he had very high alcohol levels in his body, leading to alcohol poisoning.

He had previously sought treatment for alcoholism, having admitted himself to a rehab centre past year.

His representatives said at the time he was struggling with depression. A statement shared by his family made references to the actor's "battles" as well as depression and suicide, but did not indicate a cause of death.

It continued: "Verne was also a fighter when it came to his own battles. You don't really know what's happening, you don't feel in control". Be kind to one another.

Troyer, best known for his role as Mini-Me in two of the "Austin Powers" comedy films, died earlier this year at the age of 49.

He had called paramedics to his home, saying repeatedly during his 911 call that he wanted to die.

Troyer, who was born with a form of dwarfism that stopped him from growing past 2ft 8in, also starred in the likes of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and Men in Black.

"I had a bit of an alcohol problem", Troyer told the Hollywood Reporter in 2016.

Troyer appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in the United Kingdom in 2009 and in a number of reality TV shows.

Troyer's social media posts during this time, however, painted an entirely different picture of the actor.

Upon his passing, a statement from Troyer's family read, "Verne was an extremely caring individual". It is a sad day, but I hope he is in a better place.
