Kanye visits Trump, says 'MAGA' hat makes him 'feel like Superman'

Addressing Mr Trump, he added: "There was something about when I put this hat on it made me feel like Superman".

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump disembark from Air Force One upon arrival at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport in Helsinki, July 15, 2018, on the eve of a summit in Helsinki between the US President and his Russian counterpart.

"Really, the reason why they imprisoned him is because he started doing positive for the community".

"You know when you work with a creator like Kanye West, you don't get mainstream".

Looking at Trump, he said, "You made a Superman cape for me".

The president replied, "I'm open-minded".

Trump also kept up his criticism of the Federal Reserve, saying it's "getting a little bit too cute".

West, Beach Boy Mike Love, B-list singer Kid Rock, ex-football great Jim Brown and Sam Moore of the legendary duo San and Dave were all on hand at the White House as Trump signed the Music Modernization Act, which among other things makes it easier for artists to get paid when their music streams online. "The numbers of people being shot and killed, it's not for this country". "We have the right to bear arms".

What could help Chicago, West said, was the opening up of industries and tax breaks.

The ability of the Russian-American crew to return safely after the latest mishap drew relief from senior Russian officials. The Soyuz MS-10 rocket had four boosters strapped to its central core.

"(But) This hat, it gives me power", West said.

He criticized liberals who are pressuring him to oppose Mr. Trump.

West continued to lavish praise on Trump for his impact on criminal justice and Chicago, and he spoke about how "people expect that if you're black, you have to be Democrat". "That won't stop me". Supporters of West's music have described him as a political sellout.

"We don't have the reparations but we have the 13th Amendment", he said of the amendment that abolished slavery in 1865.

West's visit comes after his wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, successfully lobbied the president to commute the sentence of Alice Marie Johnson, who had been convicted on drug charges. Mr. Trump granted the woman's release from prison.

The pre-lunch meeting was also attended by former US football player Jim Brown and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. The president said the session "was just set up to be a lunch of two people I like".

"I love this guy right here", West said. He moved around the Resolute Desk and hugged the president, who was still seated.

Kanye has drawn fire from other celebrities for his support of Trump, the former reality TV star now looking ahead to congressional elections on November 6 and his own re-election campaign in 2020. "That's from the heart".
