Borderlands 2 VR Coming December 14, Let The Milking Begin!

Despite being more than six years old at this point, Borderlands 2 seems like one of those perennial games that people keep returning to.

Excitingly, Borderlands 2 VR will bring a full VR experience to the world of Pandora (think Skyrim VR and not the rather limited VR versions of Doom and Serious Sam). The game only supports single-player, so you can't explore Pandora with your buddies, and the two DLC classes - the Mechromancer and the Psycho - are also not included. Producer Brian Burleson has taken to the PlayStation Blog to announce that the acclaimed first-person shooter is getting the VR treatment this December. Gearbox has not confirmed whether they have any plans to bring the VR version of Borderlands 2 to any other VR devices.

The original four playable Vault Hunters from Borderlands 2 are back, along with their special abilities and BAMF-modified skill trees. The game also includes "Bad Ass Mega Fun Time", a way to slow down time in order to ready an attack more easily. With the use of the motion controllers and headset, players can interact with the menu systems in a new and intuitive way for the platform, easily navigating through the menus by pointing, clicking, dragging and dropping.

The game will offer new VR-specific mechanics and skills, including a new "bullet-time" ability. Some changes include skills that upgrade the length of BAMF Time, or add additional time based on the number of enemies killed when the mode is activated. Since this is a VR edition of the game they made a decision to take out the multiplayer aspect. For instance, all vehicle sections in the game will now play out in first-person (the game previously changed to third-person when you got in a vehicle).

Shoot-and-loot with bazillions of procedurally-generated guns, each with their own capabilities and modifiers.

Due out on December 14.
