Russian Federation delivers S-300 air defenses to Syria

Russian Federation says it has delivered an S-300 surface-to-air missile-defense system to Syria, despite objections from Israel and the United States that the arms sale will escalate the Syrian civil war.

In Washington, State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert could not confirm reports that the S-300 had been delivered.

The delivery of the game-changing aerial defense system to Syria came after a Russian jet mistakenly downed by Syrian air defenses during an Israeli air raid in Latakia province, killing 15 Russian serviceman.

Russia announced the S-300 delivery to Syria after the September 17 downing of a Russian reconnaissance plane by Syrian forces responding to an Israeli air strike, a friendly fire incident that stoked regional tensions.

The US and Israel both say they'll keep fighting in Syria, and that means air power for the advanced militaries.

Deemed to be more efficient and advanced than any other interceptor missile system now in Syrian possession, the S-300 can intercept not only planes but also ballistic missiles with ranges of up to 250 kilometers and at a very high altitude.

Mr Netanyahu also expressed his confidence in the credibility of the Israeli military's account of the circumstances surrounding the downing of the Russian reconnaissance plane.

Israeli minister for military affairs Avigdor Lieberman has expressed Tel Aviv's discontent over Russia's delivery of an S-300 surface-to-air missile system to Syria, stressing the move will not deter the Israeli regime from military operations in the war-ravaged Arab country.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced the deliveries had started during a United Nations press conference.

Terrance Gore tried to sell that he was hit by a pitch, but was sent back to the plate after a review confirmed the initial call. Freeland, a 17-game victor for the Rockies this year, got the best of it for 6 2/3 scoreless innings.

He said that 49 pieces of equipment had arrived in Syria, including four launchers, locators and control vehicles.

Last week, the Observatory said that US-led coalition air strikes on Syria had killed more than 3,300 civilians since the alliance began operations against IS targets.

Israel denies this charge, and insists it also notified the Russians 12 minutes before the attack - while Moscow has said it was given only a minute's notice.

Mr Putin told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by telephone that the decision to strengthen Syria's air defences was "primarily meant to thwart any potential threat to the lives of the Russian military service members", the Kremlin said.

The Russian military intervention in the Syrian Civil War began in September 2015, after an official request by the Syrian government.

Russian Federation has an airbase in Syria from which it carries out air strikes in support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's forces.

Russian Federation has upgraded the Syrian army's missile capabilities, according to the Moscow.

"One thing needs to be clear: If someone shoots at our planes, we will destroy them".
