Manuel Pellegrini gives Twitter update on his West Ham project

Manchester United's troubled season hit a new low on Saturday as Jose Mourinho saw his gamble on a new tactical system backfire with an insipid 3-1 Premier League defeat to improving West Ham United.

Marko Arnautovic must improve at West Ham United before making his dream move to a big club says Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini. There will be conversations at the top level, about the future of the manager and the squad, because the basics are not being done.

Arnautovic was at his best yesterday as West Ham put Manchester United to the sword in a 3-1 win at the London Stadium.

"It's coming late for him as a player but he's just so important for West Ham". "Things leaking out in the press, little wars going on in the changing room, players maybe on one side of the dressing room, Mourinho and his staff on the other".

But if United looked occasionally risky in attack they were constantly unconvincing at the back, and they fell two behind just before half-time.

Mourinho's feud with Pogba has served only to exacerbate existing tensions and there is a throng of players who are close with the Frenchman and who, like the club's record £89 million signing, have all -endured run-ins, many of them public, with the manager.

The formal text of the U.S. -Mexico deal must be released by Sunday so it can be presented to the U.S. The Trump administration did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday evening.

The contrast with neighbours Manchester City could not be more marked, with Pep Guardiola's side beating Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 to go ahead of Liverpool on goal difference. But the current malaise which Mourinho has helped to engineer seems far more concerning than even that which faced Ferguson.

The malaise continued, though, with Young firing a corner straight at Mark Noble, who was able to start a counter-attck which ended with Arnautovic firing over the crossbar.

United's hierarchy may appear relatively sanguine despite the poor run but how long can they afford to wait before they reach crunch point?

He was also asked about Paul Pogba, who started and was a peripheral figure in the loss after losing his vice captaincy and being left out of the squad in a home League Cup loss to Derby County.

United are already onto their third manager since Ferguson retired as a Premier League champion in 2013.

Will they stick or twist?
