Second woman accuses Brett Kavanaugh, Trump's Supreme Court pick

Second woman accuses Brett Kavanaugh, Trump's Supreme Court pick

In light of the New Yorker report, Grassley's office is denying any wrongdoing on the chairman's part and charging that Senate Democrats have withheld information about complaints against Kavanaugh.

CBS4)- The second woman to come forward and accuse Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct lives in Boulder. Kavanaugh reported to the White House amid the upheaval, but there was no immediate word on why or whether he had been summoned.

Kavanaugh accuser Ford agrees to testify... "I remember a penis being in front of my face", she told the magazine.

The developments could also determine the fate of Mr Kavanaugh's confirmation, which hangs on the votes of a handful of senators.

Kavanaugh says the event "did not happen" and that the allegation is 'a smear, plain and simple'. Deborah said she and Kavanaugh both attended a women's soccer team dorm room party while freshmen at Yale. Specifically, that Ramirez is a registered Democrat and that she "works toward human rights, social justice, and social change". "Soon after, Senate Republicans issued renewed calls to accelerate the timing of a committee vote".

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, is also a member of the judiciary committee.

Democratic senators are expected to ask their own questions.

Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee said they would investigate Ramirez's accusation. "Judge Kavanaugh is an outstanding person and I'm with him all the way". The calendar outlines the activities he participated in that summer: basketball games, movie outings, parties, football workouts and college interviews. In a tweet aimed at Mr Kavanaugh shortly before midnight, Mr Grassley said he was giving them additional time. "It was kind of a joke", she recalled. "I hope she comes".

Ms Ford's lawyers Debra Katz and Lisa Banks had said that many aspects of Mr Grassley's latest offer were "fundamentally inconsistent" with the committee's promise of a "fair, impartial investigation". "The White House stands firmly behind Judge Kavanaugh".

College classmate claims Kavanaugh exposed himself to her at party
The result is the festival of misdirection and ugliness that now surrounds the effort to secure Judge Brett M. Among the issues still being ironed out are how long senators will have to ask questions, the person said.

The statement from attorneys Debra Katz, Lisa Banks and Michael Bromwich came after a call Sunday with staff for the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Mark Judge said, "I have no memory of the alleged incident".

Conway said, "I don't think one man's shoulders should bear decades of the #MeToo movement" that has toppled powerful men across industries over the previous year.

It might be hard to remember this as Democrats and the media throw around phrases like "second accuser" and "attempted sexual assault" and "exposing himself" against the Supreme Court nominee. Ford has alleged Kavanaugh was "stumbling drunk" when it happened.

In New York, people dressed in black began to gather in Washington Square Park as the walkout began at 1 p.m. Ford must testify first. While no witnesses were able to confirm to The New Yorker whether or not Kavanaugh was at this party, some who were reached for comment threw in their two cents about the situation. The committee said all three told investigators that they had no recollection of the evening in question.

"It is not accurate to say that those who knew him at the time dispute this", Farrow said on ABC.

The allegations, however, have cast a dark cloud over Kavanaugh's nomination, and threaten to further erode the GOP's standing among women voters - who polls show are poised to turn against Republicans in the November midterm elections.

Moreover, the West Wing aides who had urged Trump to remain muted in his response to the accusations anxious about how the president might react to an hourslong, televised hearing. The woman said Kavanaugh forced her to come in contact with his penis while both were inebriated at a party. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the matter.
