New Doctor Who Trailer Places Jodie Whittaker in Charge

It's still hard to tell from the brief looks we've gotten so far, including this one, what exactly this new start will be like, but Whittaker's Doctor already feels like a new character all her own, and we can't wait to see more when the show returns for its 11th modern-era season.

"I'm the Doctor", she says in the new trailer, who shows her waving a new version of her character's iconic sonic screwdriver.

The new season of Doctor Who drops on October 7.

The trailer incorporates Skylar Grey's vocals from Macklemore's 2017 song "Glorious". If you ask me, the show could benefit from some new blood and new ideas, so I'm all for these changes. This time the extra-terrestrial adventurer is joined by three friends in the TARDIS - Bradley Walsh as Graham O'Brien, Tosin Cole as Ryan Sinclair, and Mandip Gill as Yasmin Khan. And can she help solve the unusual events taking place across the city?

Trump to Spain: Build a wall to keep out asylum seekers
According to Josep Borrell, the president wants the European Union member country to emulating his infamous Mexico border policy. Apparently this isn't the only failed attempt by President Trump to build a wall, however.

This season will be the first to feature a woman in the title role in the more than 50-year history of the British sci-fi series.

It also gives audiences a taste of Whittaker in the role, leaning into her capability and kind heart.

In the second trailer for the upcoming season of Doctor Who, fans get a glimpse at some of the planet-hopping adventures that make Doctor Who so popular along with a look at some of the supporting cast, spaceships, and even an alien lifeform that has a whole bunch of tentacles.
