Why Captain Marvel Will Forever Change The MCU

Why Captain Marvel Will Forever Change The MCU

First appearing in Giant-Size Ms. Marvel #1 (April 2006), Chewie has already had quite a history - leaving Earth, scrapping with Rocket Raccoon, and laying 117 eggs that hatched into a new alien kitten race.

After months of anticipation, Marvel Studios dropped the trailer for its new film - and latest superhero: Captain Marvel.

The film is said to be a filler movie, as Captain Marvel is to play a key role in bringing half the world's population including Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Loki, Bucky, Spiderman, Dr Strange and The guardians of the galaxy team back to life in Avengers 4.

A younger Nick Fury's (Samuel L Jackson's) narration is about "war being a universal language".

Machines to Handle More Than Half Workplace Tasks by 2025
By 2022, this average is expected to shift to 58 per cent task hours performed by humans, 42 per cent by machines. By the year 2025, robots will do half our work-but they won't won't take our jobs, say experts.

And one particular detail in the trailer is getting a lot of attention. When the two eventually met Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy, he attempted to kill Chewie, correctly identifying it as part of the unsafe alien species known the Flerken.

The Skrulls and the Kree - the alien race that Carol becomes a part of after a device it created inadvertently gives her powers - have always been enemies so it's likely, she saw through this Skrull's old lady disguise and dealt with the Deviant accordingly. In fact, it's a Flerken's bum - belonging to Chewie, the alien cat that Carol Danvers carries with her in the comics.

The Captain Marvel poster also had a special furry addition - Carol's "cat" Chewie. The Flerken have the ability to shoot tentacles out of their mouths and hide miniature pocket realities of contained space and time inside their bodies. Instead of watching the same old story unfold, Marvel's making us want to assemble the origin story as part of Danvers' quest in the film.
