Liverpool's Roberto Firmino wears protective glasses to training

Roberto Firmino's last-gasp victor earned Liverpool a 3-2 victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, as they returned to Champions League action in style.

It is admittedly slightly worrying that his performances this season so far have in no way been reminiscent of last year's superlatives.

"It is too early to speak about anything, but it is very important for us to focus more because we are Liverpool, we are a stronger team, and we will try to do our best every game", added Mane.

"I know he's a wonderful player and he brings a lot of revenue for the club, it's probably why they've got the Air Jordan arm of Nike as a kit sponsor because of his flamboyance".

I can't say enough good things about Bobby (Roberto Firmino).

However, after starting on the bench, Firmino entered the fray late on and duly scored the winning goal in a dramatic 3-2 victory before celebrating by covering his eye with his hand.

The Dutchman said: "Everybody knows the story of me and Manchester United was not successful but I'm just happy that I'm the player I am today".

The Reds raced into a 2-0 lead before half time but the visitors fought back to level at 2-2.

Hello good evening welcome to the 2nd day of the 2018/2019 UEFA Champions League.

The star of the show was playmaker Fekir, who has now hit four goals and one assist in six games in all competitions this term, proving why Liverpool wanted him this summer.

"Normally if you score a hat-trick you frame it". The five-time winners are the most successful English side on the continent, despite no league win since 1990.

"We are suffering a little bit but that's not an excuse", said Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino. He took Dortmund to the German Cup and Champions League finals, whilst taking the Reds to the Europa League and Champions League finals.

They started their campaign by beating Monaco 2-1 away in Group A, Diego Costa and Jose Maria Gimenez getting their goals after Samuel Grandsir put the hosts in front.
