'Bond 25' Scores A New Director And A New Release Date

Filming had been slated to start this November, but after Boyle's departure, star Daniel Craig signed on to shoot whodunnit film Knives for Star Wars director Rian Johnson this winter.

"We are delighted to be working with Cary".

Cary Joji Fukunaga, 41, will direct the 25th instalment of the world's most lucrative film franchise despite a career that has barely troubled the box office.

The acclaimed film, on which Fukunaga was also cinematographer, won a handful of industry awards, including the Independent Spirit Awards for best male lead for Abraham Attah and the best supporting male for Elba, and a George Foster Peabody Award for excellence.

The announcement was made on Thursday morning that the 25th outing in the 007 franchise will begin filming at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom on March 4, 2019.

LeBron James, ‘Black Panther’s’ Ryan Coogler Team Up for ‘Space Jam’ Sequel
Warner Bros. has not announced a formal title or release date for the Space Jam sequel. "It's so much bigger". Terence Nance , creator of the HBO show " Random Acts of Flyness ", is directing the untitled sequel.

"His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure". He made a splash with his directorial debut Sin Nombre in 2009, and impressed with his (highly underrated) 2011 Jane Eyre adaptation, which traded Gothic interiors for a stunningly naturalistic take.

Cary rose to fame in 2014 after directing and producing the first series of True Detective with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.

Obviously, there are a couple interesting bits of trivia here, the largest being Fukunaga becoming the first American to deliver a Bond picture (discounting the off-brand 1967 Casino Royale or Never Say Never Again).

He will return with a new limited series for Netflix, Maniac, starring Emma Stone and Jonah Hill, on Friday.

The still-untitled James Bond 25 hits theaters on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2020.
