Lionel Messi overtakes Cristiano Ronaldo's phenomenal Champions League record

Lionel MESSI scored a hat trick for FC Barcelona in their 4-0 win against PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League.

And in the 87th minute, Messi completed the hat trick with another wonderful goal to make it 4-0.

He said: "There's not only Messi in this Barcelona".

"[Messi] does extraordinary things and makes them seem routine".

With his hat trick on Tuesday, he now leads Ronaldo 63-60 in total group-stage goals.

"Messi is normal because we always see it", he said. As a player in La Liga, I don't remember anyone like him.

To add more weight to the rumours, the Manchester United target has also added that Barcelona were keen on signing him this past summer, and were in talks with his agent.

Messi opened proceedings this evening after elegantly curling a delightful free-kick into the top corner, leaving Jeroen Zoet with absolutely no chance, and that goal ensured he has now scored eight direct free-kicks in 2018, which is the most he has netted in a calendar year, proving that the Argentinian ace has truly mastered another footballing art. Van Bommel, knowing that some of his players likely will be star struck, also emphasised that his players need to be "professionals" about it and not ask Messi for his shirt at half-time, like others have done in the past.

Daily aspirin may involve more risk than reward
The study found the higher death rate in the aspirin-treated group was due primarily to a higher rate of cancer deaths. If you are a healthy older person and take a low-dose aspirin every day, it may be more harmful than you think.

Breaking the deadlock allowed Barcelona to relax even though they were already in their rhythm.

"What a left foot he has", Rakitic told reporters. Whereas the second goal was scored by Ousmane Dembele in the 74 minute. But Messi managed just six goals in last season's tournament. "I dream of one day playing at Barça, but for now I think only of PSV".

Valverde talked up the importance of that opening goal and believes that it was the turning point of a game which his side went on to win comfortably.

Messi once again failed in his bid to lift the World Cup trophy this summer in Russian Federation, where he did not play at his best and Argentina lost to France in the round of 16.

At the start of the season, Messi had spoke about making the Champions League a priority for the Blaugrana and he's well and truly set the bar with his performance tonight.

They have failed to get beyond the quarterfinals for the last three seasons while arch rivals Real Madrid have won club soccer's most coveted prize three years in a row.

"It is always special and even more so if Lionel Messi puts it like that as this could be a year of a lot of trophies, " the Croatia worldwide explained according to Dailymail.

Christian Pulisic celebrated his 20th birthday by scoring on his return from injury to give Borussia Dortmund a late 1-0 win at Club Brugge in group A.
