Julia Louis-Dreyfus signs letter supporting Brett Kavanaugh accuser

Conway said sworn testimony from both Kavanaugh and Ford on the specific allegation should be considered as part of the record in the judge's hearings. I want him to go in at the absolute highest level. Lindsey Graham has called on Ford to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee as soon as possible so that senators can hear what she has to say without delaying the vote.

Grassley didn't say whether Thursday's committee vote will go forward.

Through the White House, Kavanaugh meanwhile issued a fresh denial of the charges leveled by Ford. Though she quietly made the allegations known earlier in the summer, she didn't publicly attach her name to the accusations until Sunday, when she spoke to the Washington Post. Days earlier Kavanaugh had seemed on track for quick approval.

Ford described Kavanaugh and Mark Judge, a second boy in the room, as "stumbling drunk" in her interview with the Post.

"This is a completely false allegation", Kavanaugh said in a statement Monday morning. White House adviser Kellyanne Conway told reporters Monday that the accuser's allegations should be heard by the Senate.

"This is not a politically motivated action", Katz said. "And Judge Kavanaugh should also testify to these 36-year-old allegations".

Republican Senator Susan Collins, whose vote could be pivotal in deciding whether Kavanaugh gets confirmed, said on Twitter the nominee and his accuser should both testify under oath before the committee.

The top Democrat on the panel, Sen.

Ford sent her lawyer out to be clear on some key points.

Trump says he wants a "full process" to investigate the allegations. "We need to delay the vote", Leahy said. "Most importantly, I want the American people to be happy ..."

Daily aspirin may involve more risk than reward
The study found the higher death rate in the aspirin-treated group was due primarily to a higher rate of cancer deaths. If you are a healthy older person and take a low-dose aspirin every day, it may be more harmful than you think.

Katz is a major Democrat donor and called those working for President Trump "miscreants". Grassley intends to press on as planned with Kavanaugh's confirmation vote later this week, but said that Ford's accusation "deserves to be heard" in an "appropriate" manner.

Republicans hold a razor-thin 51-49 majority in the Senate.

In a statement, Leahy said Republicans have left the Democrats with "no choice but to seek redress in a court of law - and to obtain documents that already should have been provided to the Senate". Kavanaugh has denied the allegations. Dianne Feinstein, led a number of Democrats calling for a delay in the vote.

Kavanaugh could provide the fifth vote to overturn the Roe v. Wade abortion-rights decision. We dream of making a world where women are free from harassment, assault and sexual violence. Female voters preferred Democratic candidates over Republican ones by 54 per cent to 33 per cent, while 62 per cent of women disapproved of Trump's job performance, according to an NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll in July.

The Post reported: "While his friend watched, she said, Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed on her back and groped her over her clothes, grinding his body against hers and clumsily attempting to pull off her one-piece bathing suit and the clothing she wore over it". She said she managed to escape when Kavanaugh's friend jumped on top of them, sending all three tumbling.

Ford said she will participate in any proceedings she is invited to participate in. "The door was locked behind her", Banks told NPR.

"He is somebody very special", Trump said of Kavanaugh.

The Weekly Standard quoted Judge on Friday as saying no such incident ever occurred. A therapist's notes support her current account, as do notes from an individual therapy session the next year.

Wendy Walsh is supporting Ford after her own experience with the O'Reilly scandal.

Kavanaugh's statement came shortly after Ford said through her attorney that she would be willing to speak with Congress to tell her side of the story.
