Jimmy Butler Requests Trade From Wolves

While Jon Krawczynski notes the request has to do with "contractual matters" and "very little" to do with Butler's reported frustrations with Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, there's been enough smoke over the past year regarding tension between the young Wolves and Butler that it's hard to ignore that factor.

As Butler is set to become a free agent at the end of the 2018-19 National Basketball Association season, there have been reported conflicts between him and the team's rising stars Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns.

The 29-year-old is now meeting with Minnesota head coach Tom Thibodeau to discuss his future with the team. Butler reportedly informed Tom Thibodeau of his desire on Tuesday.

The Thibodeau-Butler meeting was expected to be a serious conversation on the franchise's fragile state, sources said.

They allegedly took her to Robicheaux's apartment and sexually assaulted her with intention of raping her, officials said. On Tuesday, a district attorney in Orange County said the couple worked in tandem to identify victims.

It was thought when the Minnesota Timberwolves acquired Jimmy Butler in a draft-night trade in 2017 that he would expedite the Wolves rebuild, and instantly turn the team into a contender. On Wednesday, Wiggins' older brother, Nick, added credence to those reports with his celebratory tweet.

Despite being touted as an elite defender and athlete in college at Kansas, Wiggins has regressed since Butler joined the Timberwolves.

After six seasons with the Chicago Bulls, Butler played his first season in Minnesota past year, averaging 22.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists in 59 games. Prior to his time in Minnesota, the four-time All-Star spent six seasons with the Bulls.

Timberwolves training camp is scheduled to begin next week.
