US official confirms further Palestinian aid cut

Almost 175 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since anti-occupation protest rallies began in the Gaza Strip on March 30.

The official said the portion involving Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza would be used "to enhance" programmes in Israel instead.

Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman of the Health Ministry in Gaza said that three Palestinians were shot dead and hundreds injured by Israeli soldiers' gunfire in various areas in eastern Gaza Strip, close to the border with Israel.

An American law professor was detained by Israeli police for allegedly trying to block Israeli troops in a West Bank village slated for demolition, his Israeli lawyer said Saturday.

Mohammed, a 12 year-old friend also from Jabalia refugee camp, said he was with Abdel Aal when he was hit. He provided no further details.

The palestinian enclave has been the scene of protests since march 30, along the fence to ask for the lifting of the israeli blockade and for the right of return of Palestinians who were expelled or fled their lands in the creation of Israel in 1948. One Israeli soldier has been killed.

It says its actions are necessary to defend the border.

A United States embassy official said the portion of the money allocated for Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip was being redirected to programs for Jewish and Arab Israelis.

The victim, Ari Fuld, 45, was well-known amongst settlers as a pro-Israel advocate.

The Palestinians want to establish a state in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem.

"We're going to have to defend the plan to Israelis and Palestinians", he said as the administration moved to finalize the initiative, led by Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. He was killed at a shopping mall near the Gush Etzion junction that has been the site of similar incidents in recent years.

There is regular friction between Israelis and Palestinians at the junction, which lies near a major Israeli settlement bloc and has been the site of numerous lone-wolf Palestinian attacks.

Surveillance footage shared on news sites and social media showed the assailant approaching an older man near the mall entrance and stabbing him several times.
