The Joker Standalone Movie Director Shares Photo of Joaquin Phoenix as 'Arthur'

Filmmaker Todd Phillips has shared a photo of Joaquin Phoenix's character in the upcoming Joker origin film including the future villain's name before his infamous transformation.

A set of images of Joaquin on set were also shared on JustJared where Phoenix can be seen laughing manically and playing with a clown. With a $55 million budget, the current consensus is that the film will be more of a character study than a blockbuster action flick. It was previously rumoured that the Joker will go by Arthur Fleck in the new film, and this new post seems to confirm it.

"I wouldn't quite classify this as like any genre". There have also been some leaked photos from the set that show Phoenix in character flashing a giant mischievous smile while working with a clown. Jared Leto will also be starring in a Joker movie at some point, and he's probably furious with envy right now. When it comes to superhero movies, Phoenix believes that there are often real-life scenarios that attribute to how these extraordinary characters end up, and sometimes they are highlighted, and other times they are not.

Joker is now filming in New York City, and it is expected to hit theaters on October 4, 2019.

We're guessing this will be the name of Joker before he adopts his villainous title. It looks like a screen test of Phoenix with a stern look through his long brown hair. So, it will be interesting to see how comic book fans react to what Todd Phillips and Phoenix are creating together.
