Elon Musk’s company finds a boring way to use an Xbox controller

If you still don't remember the Boring Company, perhaps you remember the promotional flame-thrower they sold?

I'm pretty sure everyone that operates within it is having tons of fun though, as suggested by the most recent video posted on Twitter, which shows a large piece of tunneling machinery being guided by an operator via an XBox controller.

A couple of days after Musk's brief encounter with the green goddess, a video (below) appeared on the Boring Company's Twitter feed showing one of its digging machines apparently being operated by an Xbox controller.

You don't solve the issue of no hard border by having a hard border 20km inside Northern Ireland, or 20km inside Ireland. May also insisted no other plan on the table would ensure "frictionless" trade in Ireland.

Though it remains unclear if it is Musk himself "test-driving" the machine or some other Boring Company employee, the billionaire did note that this was one of the new machines used by the company for burrowing and building a vast tunnel network under the ground. The idea is to use powerful digging machines that can drill at speeds much faster than conventional boring machines, which should dramatically cut the cost of such projects.

Boring Co is not the first company to employ an Xbox controller in an unconventional application. "This is a big difference compared to subways that stop at every stop, whether you're getting off or not", Musk said. Apart from that, it has also got approvals for projects under Washington and Chicago. Most recently the company pitched a "loop" system that would connect Los Angeles suburbs to the Dodgers stadium in four minutes. By using the Xbox One controller, The Boring Company can avoid the headache of developing its own control system.
