Cleveland Browns release WR Josh Gordon

Gordon was healthy for and during Friday's practice, usually when teams start to make final decisions on roster counts for Sunday's matchups.

The Browns will release Gordon on Monday, general manager John Dorsey announced in a prepared statement Saturday night, the eve of their road game against the New Orleans Saints.

Gordon and DeValve both have injured hamstrings, while Kirksey, a team captain, is battling both a shoulder and an ankle issue.

The Browns announced they will release wideout Josh Gordon.

Either way, Gordon's run as the longest-tenured member of the Browns will end.

Josh Gordon is a free agent.

He missed the entire 2015 and 2016 seasons before returning a year ago. The receiver caught just one pass on three targets, but it was a 17-yard touchdown that tied the game with less than two minutes left in regulation.
