Apple teased by Xiaomi for over-the-top pricing of iPhones

Apple unveiled three new iPhones on Wednesday, including its biggest and most expensive model yet, as the company sought to widen the product's appeal amid slowing sales. Not only the iPhone XS and XS Max, but Airtel will also be bringing iPhone XR to its Online Store and the pre-orders for the same will start on October 19, 2018.

Same as previous year, Airtel might launch EMI schemes for the upcoming iPhone XS and the XS Max, but for now, the phones will be available for purchase at the original prices as Apple announced.

For instance - AT&T will lease you the iPhone XS for less than $34 each month for tenure of 30 months. Priced at $999 and $1099, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are dubbed as the most advanced phone ever designed by the American tech giant.

Apple's 2018 iPhone Event: What You Need to Know
The Cupertino-based company has positioned the iPhone XR as its budget offering and it comes with toned down specifications. For imaging, the iPhone XR uses a single 12 MP standard shooter which has 1.4 um pixels and a f/1.8 aperture 6-element lens.

The screen needs no backlight, so black would appear as truly black rather than simply dark. However, in came the iPhone XR which bears the starting price tag of Rs 76,900. The iPhone XS and XS Max, both sport OLED displays of 5.8-inch and 6.5-inches respectively.

However, in order to qualify, you'll need to buy an iPhone Xs or iPhone Xs Max on an installment plan, which means you'll need to pay for it monthly over a set period of time you define with your carrier. Most of the Android flagship phones powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset have scored around 290k on AnTuTu which shows how powerful the Apple A12 SoC is. They will have facial-recognition technology to unlock the device.

While online sentiment was mixed, an obvious key focus was the high price tag - also a target of criticism around the launch of the iPhone X a year ago. The 256GB version of Apple iPhone XR will cost Rs 91,900.
