2018 Brickyard 400 under rain delay — NASCAR Cup Series

Practice and qualifying sessions for both the Xfinity and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series were canceled.

Mother Nature wreaked havoc on the entire racing weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, washing out everything including Sunday's Brickyard 400 and Saturday's Lilly Diabetes 250.

Rain washed out all Saturday track activity at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the field for the final race of the regular season was set by points.

Occasional race is expected to end at around 4:00 p.m. ET this evening. This may sound a little insane but maybe the teams should get a 30-minute practice session before each race? This almost became an issue in last year's Brickyard 400 after a one-hour, 47-minute rain delay took place during the race. Kyle Busch will start first and be followed by Kevin Harvick.

NASCAR made a decision to move up the start time of Sunday's race from 2 pm ET to 1 pm ET in an effort to ensure the Cup race could be completed on Sunday. This race is set to be broadcast on NBC Sports Network whenever it ends up getting underway.

Johnson is in a 48-race losing streak headed into the Brickyard 400 and his Hendrick Motorsports team has been inconsistent all season.
