Here's Everything New At Apple: iPhone, Apple Watch, iOS And More

Pre-orders for the iPhone Xr begins on October 19, with the phone hitting store shelves on October 26.

Apple's annual September press conference kicked off on Wednesday at the Steve Jobs Theater on its circular Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California.

In addition to the new XS and XS MAX, Apple has also announced the new iPhone XR, the latest budget iPhone that still packs a mean punch.

The iPhone XS and XS Max will be available to pre-order on Friday, September 14 and ship Friday, September 21 in the United States and other countries. A bigger version will be called the iPhone XS Max, which looks to be about the size of the iPhone 8 Plus, though the screen size is much larger.

The biggest aesthetic shakeup is that the iPhone XR will arrive in no less than six new technicolour finishes, including blue, yellow and red.

Philip Schiller, an Apple Worldwide Marketing vice president, introduced it as the "most handsome phone" they have ever made, and it has the biggest iPhone display to date.

If you were hoping the dual-camera system on the iPhone X would make its way over the the iPhone XR, I've got some bad news: the iPhone XR only uses a single rear camera like the iPhone 8.

On the surface the camera specs appear the same as last year's model, but Apple reckons its new Smart HDR tech, ability to control the depth of field on portraits and faster sensors will have you shooting better photos than ever before. Become a BI Insider today!

Sometimes Easter Eggs are amusing , sometimes they're thought-provoking, and sometimes they chronicle a really sad break-up in Marvel's Spider-Man.

The iPhone Xr is prices starting at $749 for the 64GB model.

Finally, a 6.1 inch iPhone Xr is expected, and this is slated to be the go-to model.

You'd think that the yearly iPhone update would be the big news, but it really wasn't-the new Apple Watch has a bigger display with curved edges, and the software has been dramatically updated with new watch faces that take advantage of the new display. It is also dust and waterproof like the premium models. It's faster, with a new 7nm A12 Bionic processor, has up to 512GB in storage and has dual-SIM support. Outwardly, it will look a lot like the iPhone X but will get a processor and memory boost.

The new watch has an ECG sensor to detect the wearer's heart rhythm as well as heart rate.

So this is the first time it's come to a "standard" iPhone, if you will.

Another 6.1-inch iPhone XR (Xr?) is set to debut based on this morning's leak, and rumours believe it will be "lower cost" and have an LCD display.

"It's a good way for Apple to get people with older devices, like the 6 and 5S, to upgrade".
