Meanwhile, Nixon's former "Sex and the City" co-stars, Parker, Kristin Davis and Chris Noth, have publicly announced their support for her in the race. Supporters rallied to Nixon's defense by pointing to the shoddy basis of the mailer's accusations and the fact that Nixon - who is not herself Jewish - is raising two Jewish sons from a previous relationship.

"Larry Schwartz, who serves on our campaign in a volunteer capacity, was reviewing mail pieces in an ad hoc fashion, but he only saw the positive section of the mailer and never saw the negative section", Smith said.

Yet she heads into Thursday's vote trailing Cuomo in every single demographic group, the governor leading 63-22%, up from 60-29% in late July, according to the latest poll from Siena College.

Nixon shot back at Cuomo's assertions, saying his claim to not know about the mailer was "patently absurd".

But in the days leading up to the primary, the two were focused on a scathing mailer sent by the state Democratic party charging that Nixon has been "silent on the rise of anti-Semitism". After a slow start, she attracted money and endorsements - including a New York Times endorsement that is front and center in all of her advertisements.

He described how he was cleared to play by the team doctor at halftime against the Bears so long as he could "deal with the pain". After all, Rodgers returned from injury on Sunday after being taken to the locker room on the front seat of a cart.


"I am the most aggressive in the United States of America in taking him on", Mr. Cuomo said at a recent campaign stop, highlighting his opposition to the Trump administration's immigration efforts. "This is a fight for the soul of the Democratic Party".

"It is hard to go up against the Cuomo machine and it takes an enormous amount of bravery, but we are exhausted of the status Cuomo", she added. "I would love people's support, but whoever you vote for, it's important that you vote", said Cuomo. They might not think she can win, but a vote for her might convince be a warning to Cuomo to clean up his act. Leecia Eve, a former Cuomo aide, was in fourth.

The flier was then approved by Larry Schwartz, another campaign volunteer who was formerly Cuomo's top lieutenant.

But the perception that James was too close to Cuomo created an opening for Teachout, who ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2014 and for Congress in 2016.

Earlier this campaign season, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ayanna Pressley both upset long-serving Democratic incumbent congressmen in nominating races in NY and MA, promising more vigorous liberal policies and highlighting their opposition to Republican President Donald Trump.
