Alli played the entire ninety minutes for his country at Wembley on Saturday evening as England kicked-off their Nations League campaign with a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Spain.

Manchester United forward Rashford scored the only goal as the Three Lions returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Switzerland in Leicester on Tuesday.

England didn't get off the best start in the first half after making nine changes from their game against Spain, but Southgate made a few tweaks for the second half before Rashford's 54th-minute victor.

The Spurs attacker was subsequently release from the England squad on Monday and sent back to north London for further assessment after it was revealed he had picked-up a muscle injury.

The nun's family said that they would initiate legal action against PC George for his statements and hurting the nun's sentiments. The National Commission of Women (NCW) on Monday issued George a summons for his remarks against the nun.

Eric Dier will captain a side that is likely to include goalkeeper Jack Butland, defenders James Tarkowski, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose, midfielders Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fabian Delph, plus striker Danny Welbeck.

England struggled to get Loftus-Cheek on the ball in risky positions in the first half and when they did, he was unable to do much with it, often showing an inability to turn when presented with the ball with his back to goal. Old stagers Valon Behrami and Gelson Fernandes both announced their worldwide retirements after being left out of the current get-together, and fellow World Cup squad members Blerim Dzemaili and Josip Drmic were also overlooked.

Defeat against Switzerland would see England lose four games in a row for the first time in their history but the non-competitive outing in Leicester represents a chance to hand the 25-year-old a well-earned breather.

Kane was rested for England's friendly against Switzerland tonight, taking up a place on the bench. [Xherdan] Shaqiri was also dropping off the front into areas that were a problem and they were overloading in midfield. England generally prevented him from taking up unsafe positions, but he came close to breaking the deadlock early on after Gavranovic robbed Tarkowski on the edge of the box.
