Patriots Sign RB Kenjon Barner and WRs Corey Coleman and Bennie Fowler

The team managed to check off all the boxes.

The Patriots are adding some depth to their receiving corps by signing former Brown Corey Coleman, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports. Finally, they signed former Eagles running back/return specialist Kenjan Barner.

A first-round pick by the Browns in the 2016 NFL Draft, Coleman was traded by the Browns this offseason to the Bills, but then released shortly after. An electric touchdown threat at Baylor, Coleman's National Football League career still hasn't taken off as he would have hoped.

If he can pick up the offense, and click with Tom Brady, Coleman potentially brings speed and big-play ability to the lineup. Barner also gives the Patriots some additional running back depth following the season-ending injury to Jeremy Hill.

Verizon 5G Home service coming to four cities from October 1
According to Verizon, both of these totals includes all taxes and fees, and do not require an annual contract. Expect Verizon to roll out 5G to more cities before it announces mobile service sometime in 2019.

He hasn't had the same success in the National Football League, recording 56 receptions for 718 yards and five touchdown catches in 19 games. Julian Edelman is due back from suspension for Week 5. He'll be able to contribute on special teams right away; Fowler played the fifth-most special teams snaps on the Broncos (227) last season. He's had issues holding onto the ball, which might have led to his release by Denver. He has experience playing in the slot. Coleman's signing comes a day after the Pats waived receivers Chad Hansen and Riley McCarron.

Barner, 28, was a sixth-round pick by the Panthers in 2013 and returned to Carolina for training camp this year.

Don't be surprised if he's active Sunday in Jacksonville returning punts.
