Sen. Collins Unfazed by Leaked Kavanaugh Email on Roe v. Wade

"Reject President Trump's Supreme Court Pick!" has raised close to $900,000. The Judiciary Committee will likely vote on Kavanaugh's nomination next week, and the full Senate vote is expected before the Supreme Court's upcoming term gets underway on October 1. The documents were emails from Judge Kavanaugh's time serving in the Bush White House, and had been cleared for the Judiciary Committee to view during its considering of the Supreme Court nomination, but haven't been cleared for the public yet. Lisa Murkowski, the Senate's other pro-choice Republican.

Harris tried to pin down Kavanaugh about a conversation she believed he had about the Mueller investigation with a lawyer at Kasowitz Benson Torres, the law firm founded by President Donald Trump's personal attorney, Marc Kasowitz. "We were surprised to learn about Senator Booker's histrionics this morning because we had already told him he could use the documents publicly", Burck said in a statement to The Washington Post.

"I have been involved in confirmation hearings for six Supreme Court justices". Rather than focusing on Kavanaugh's judicial philosophy and his legal opinions, Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee have chosen to focus on legislative issues that are the purvue of Congress - not the Supreme Court.

Collins has kept quiet about how she will vote.

Homer, the author of the tweet about Collins' staff handling of Kavanaugh calls, said Indivisible MDI held a "die-in" in downtown Bar Harbor on Sunday that symbolized how women would die from unsafe abortions if Roe v. Wade were overturned and abortion became illegal in some states.

What complicates the matter is that the Turkish military has 12 observation posts along the frontline in Idlib, deep in HTS territory.

While she has never voted against a supreme court nominee, Collins has promised to reject a candidate who is hostile to Roe v Wade.

The pressure on Collins and Murkowski is accordingly intense, with liberal groups running TV ads encouraging them to reject the nomination.

"I always wait until after the hearings are complete before making a decision, and I'll do so in this case as well", she said in an interview. The ad, which will be aired starting on Tuesday, is a "six-figure" buy and will air 200 times on cable and network television all over Maine.

"I am right now, before your process is finished, I am going to release the email about racial profiling, and I understand the penalty comes with potential ousting from the Senate", the New Jersey Democrat said, later adding that he was "knowingly violating the rules".

The ad is referring to a 2003 email by Kavanaugh from when he worked as an attorney in the Bush administration. Now we see the same naked display of power in rushing the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Collins said on Friday that was her interpretation of the email as well.
