Weed, whiskey, Tesla and a flamethrower: Elon Musk meets Joe Rogan

Weed, whiskey, Tesla and a flamethrower: Elon Musk meets Joe Rogan

"Tesla 1st, 2nd & 3rd in August sales", Musk tweeted.

Running Tesla is his "hardest" job, he told Rogan.

"I think most likely, this is just about probability, there are many, many simulations", Musk opined. Musk, when offered a hit by Rogan, asked, "It's legal right?" before opting to take a puff.

Over the summer, Tesla's head of engineering, Doug Fields, someone Musk once described as "one of the world's most talented engineering execs", unexpectedly quit.

That may have provided some relief to those betting on the company's decline ー on Thursday, it was reported that prolific short seller Andrew Left of Citron Research was filing suit against Tesla and Musk for the now-infamous "funding secured" tweet in early August. Musk asked his host after he took out a large joint and lit it up.

Tesla Inc. (TSLA) shares dropped down to their lowest point in almost six months today amid a lawsuit made by a short-seller who is suing the vehicle company over claims that they lied to investors about taking TSLA private. "I want to be clear that I believe strongly in Tesla, its mission, and its future prospects, and I have no disagreements with Tesla's leadership or its financial reporting". Dave Morton was a longtime veteran of computer hardware company Seagate Technology, where he served as the CFO. Keep this in mind, Mr. Morton was due a $10 million dollar new hire grant that would vest after four years with the company, and he willingly walked away from it. It later said that Chief People Officer Gaby Toledano would not return from a leave of absence, just over a year after joining.

CBS CEO in exit talks amid sexual misconduct probe
Year-to-date, CBS has declined -6.52%, versus a 8.82% rise in the benchmark S&P 500 index during the same period. Moonves' potential exit from CBS comes at a time of twin sources of turmoil for the company.

But Tesla has a history of bouncing back, and there were signs this week that investors are being buoyed by increases in production at the company's Fremont, California, assembly plant - and the announcement, by Musk, that Tesla's three product lines were the three best-selling EVs in America last month.

Most employees at Tesla, as part of the application process, are required to sign a nondisclosure agreement that some have cited as reasons for not commenting publicly about their tenure at the company. In July, he tweeted that a British diver who helped with the rescue of a Thai soccer team trapped in a cave was a "pedo guy".

Tesla's $1.8 billion junk bond maturing in August 2025 plunged as much as 4 cents on the dollar to below 82 cents, a record low, in Friday trading, pushing the yield above 8.8 percent. Musk repeated his attacks on Unsworth in an email to a reporter, again raising questions about his decision making and state of mind.

This follows other bad news for Tesla, and Musk coming under fire for things including what he says on Twitter.

During the interview, the pair discussed Musk's ability to dream up ideas and inventions, with the billionaire comparing the way his brain works to a "mutation", saying when he was a child he thought he was "insane".
