Rodgers leads Packers to unreal comeback vs. Bears

The Packers' defence, in new co-ordinator Mike Pettine's first game, held the Bears to two field goals in the second half.

It ruins what was a stellar start for the Bears who were buoyed by a strong effort from newly acquired linebacker Khalil Mack, who had a sack, forced fumble and recovery along with an interception touchdown in his debut.

With the heart-breaking defeat, the Bears have now lost 15 of their last 17 games to the Packers dating back to 2010 and have dropped 10 straight contests to NFC North opponents.

Rodgers was replaced by DeShone Kizer, who the Packers traded for during the offseason after he started for the Browns during his rookie year.

It was only the fifth time in franchise history that Green Bay came back to win from a 20-point deficit after the Packers trailed 20-0 in the third quarter. Vic Fangio's defense had no answers for Rodgers in the second half, and after he returned he completed 17 of 22 passes for 273 yards with two touchdowns. But, all of that was erased in the second half when Nagy didn't go for the jugular with the chance to put the game away on fourth down in the fourth quarter. Rodgers connected with Randall Cobb for a 75-yard touchdown catch-and-run to make it 24-23.

After that, it was Mack and the defense that took center stage.

Trubisky continued the momentum after halftime, leading the Bears on a 60-yard drive that led to a 33-yard Parkey field goal that made it 20-0. He appeared to reach down for the back of his left leg. Rodgers then walked to the cart that took him up the Lambeau Field tunnel. He eventually was carted to the Packers locker room. The initially turned it over on downs but were saved when Clay Matthews was called for a late hit on the quarterback to extend the drive.
