Mac Miller, Rapper and MTV Reality Star, Dies at 26

Mac Miller, the troubled rapper who won fans with his retro hip-hop but generated uncomfortable attention with songs on ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande and Donald Trump, died Friday at age 26, reports said.

Celebrity website TMZ reported that Miller died in Los Angeles of an apparent drug overdose but Reuters could not confirm that.

"In the late morning of September 7, Malcolm McCormick was found unresponsive in his home located in Studio City".

There were no details on the cause of his death.

He dropped his debut studio album, Blue Slide Park, via an independent label in 2011 and it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts.

In May, shortly after the end of his two-year relationship with the pop singer Ariana Grande, Miller was charged with a DUI after police said he hit a utility pole with his vehicle.

Fellow rappers and musicians paid tribute to Miller on Friday, shortly after news of his death broke. Just last month, the Los Angeles Attorney's Office officially charged the rapper with a DUI stemming from a auto accident in May in the San Fernando Valley.

Yeah, I made a stupid mistake. But beyond helping me launch my career he was one of the sweetest guys I ever knew.

'I love how comfortable I am making a beat on LIVE, ' Miller can be heard saying on Instagram Live as he toyed around on his keyboards. I can not take this anymore, life is too short... I am completely broken.

While fans have hit out at Ariana over Mac's death; the star had been open about his 10-year battle with addiction, which began before he ever met Ariana.

The pair dated for nearly two years and recorded multiple songs together, including "My Favorite Part and "The Way". "I used to rap super openly about really dark s-t", he told Vulturein a profile that published on Friday.

"I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years (and always will of course)", Grande, who's since moved on with SNL's Pete Davidson, said in late May 2018. The "God is a woman" singer finally disabled the comments section function on most of her Instagram posts to stop the flood of hate.
