Inspirational YouTuber Claire Wineland Dead Following Lung Transplant

On August 26, Claire suffered a massive stroke after the surgery because of a blood clot that cut off circulation to her brain.

"Last night at 6:00pm, Claire Wineland our inspirational founder passed away", Wineland's foundation, Claire's Place, said in a statement Monday.

"When I was born, I had a life expectancy of 5 years old", she once explained in a September 2015 video. "Living a life we can be proud of is something we can control".

Words of love and gratitude have filled social media since Wineland's passing, and those she has helped and encouraged will not soon forget her.

Hundreds of thousands of people watched her videos and read her posts where she discussed her illness and sought to change public perception of it.

Kim Jong Un Reaffirms Commitment To Denuclearization As Koreas Set Summit
Leaders of North and South Korea have agreed to meet on September 18 to discuss "practical measures" towards denuclearisation. USA officials also say they have already made concessions, such as halting joint military exercises with South Korea.

"After a week of intensive care and various life saving procedures, it became clear that it was Claire's time to go", McHolm said in the statement.

According to Wineland herself, she spent over 25% of her life hospitalized, but it didn't hamper her zest for life and spreading awareness about her own, and all, illnesses.

Announcing the news on Monday, Wineland's family confirmed that they had made a decision to take her off life support following a week of intensive care.

She had previously rejected the idea of a double lung transplant, which can add years to the lives of people with the disease. When she was 12 I tutored her...often times at the hospital. You have to fight like hell to make sure that the life reflected back at you right now is one you want to be living.

"Claire's corneas and tissue was recovered and she will be able to enhance the life of up to 50 people", a family services specialist wrote in the email. "All these messy and gross emotions", she said.

The turns in her health prompted her to seek the lung transplant, she told viewers: "Transplant for me isn't about getting new lungs". Really. I mean that seriously. In June, she said she was seeking a lung transplant. "Claire's remarkable family were so happy for the other families that were now getting the calls that the organ they had always been waiting for was now available for transplant". They had been on the receiving end of that call just one short week ago.
