Meet 'Captain Marvel' in First Official Photos From Brie Larson's Movie

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel sidesteps the traditional origin-story template, and when it begins, Carol already has her powers. He is your go-to fella for creator interviews, conversations about comic book structure, and general DC Comics nerding.

EW, being the cheeky scamps they are, have something "Marvel-ous" in mind. Be sure to check out the photos, which were debuted by Entertainment Weekly, for yourself below. We've had leaks of Brie Larson as the titular character, but EW is in full-on promotion mode and will be dropping the first official looks at the hero throughout the week.

Speaking of Earth, Captain Marvel takes place in the mid-'90s, long before Steve Rogers was defrosted or Tony Stark built his first suit.

Viewers got their first teaser for the shiny new female superhero in a post-credits scene at the end of Avengers: Infinity back in April.

Samsung plans to launch a foldable smartphone this year
But unless you're in dire need of an upgrade, the smart move is to wait for what the next iPhone, Pixel and even Galaxy S10 bring. Samsung's mobile chief DJ Koh , in an interview with CNBC , has confirmed that foldable phone will delivered later this year.

Here is the thing about Captain Marvel and her universe: A lot of people who don't read comics don't know much about her, and they have a lot to learn about her story and how she came to be.

So far, Monica Rambeau hasn't been confirmed to appear in Captain Marvel, but even if she doesn't, she's got a direct connection to the film. Ben Mendelsohn plays their leader Talos, who spearheads a Skrull invasion of Earth.

Huh. Desk jockey Nick Fury. The shape-shifting ability of the Skrulls makes them particularly formidable and with Mendelsohn's character infiltrating S.H.I.E.L.D., who knows what that could ultimately mean. You don't need to be Shuri to figure this one out: a Captain Marvel reveal is coming. The film centers on Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot-turned-spacefaring superhero whose half-human, half-alien (specifically Kree) DNA gives her incredible powers. We could be looking at a movie along the lines of Guardians of the Galaxy that blows us all away when it hits theaters.

Hopefully a trailer will arrive soon? Maybe because this will be a film set in the 90s it was decided the bold colors will work, or perhaps this is just how Captain Marvel rolls.
