Redskins to host Adrian Peterson

On the field, Adrian Peterson will always be regarded as one of the greatest running backs to ever put on a Minnesota Vikings uniform.

A seven-time Pro Bowler, four-time First-Team All-Pro, and NFL MVP in 2012, Peterson is destined to be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame one day.

Former Arizona Cardinals running back Adrian Peterson is set to meet with the Washington Redskins on Monday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

LSU's Derrius Guice, who was drafted in the 2nd round, was definitely high on the list to be the starter, but he would tear his ACL in the preseason opener.

Peterson, 33, is coming off a season in which he rushed for 529 yards in 10 games.

Backups Samaje Perine and Byron Marshall are out with ankle injuries, as well.

Tite brings in young blood for Brazil friendlies in U.S.
Danilo , Fernandinho , Paulinho, Cassio and Pedro Geromel were the other members of the Selecao's World Cup squad to miss out. Tite said he left out several senior men to give younger players a chance to show what they can do at the highest level.

Jamaal Charles also met with Washington. That injury brought an early end to Peterson's 2017 season.

Peterson is the Vikings' all-time leader in career rushing yards (11,747), career rushing attempts (2,418), and career rushing touchdowns (97).

After spending time with the New Orleans Saints, Peterson was traded to the Cardinals on October 10 for a sixth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

We spoke with Peterson back in March and asked him if he'd really be cool playing second fiddle at his next stop. and he was adamant he'll do whatever it takes to help a team win. That's where Peterson comes in, though we'll have to see how much he has left in the tank.

If Marshall isn't ready to open the season, the Redskins might want another backup to third-down back Chris Thompson.
