Nvidia also announced a new Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), which is a technology that applies deep learning and AI to rendering techniques using millions of images to learn how to treat a pixel, resulting in crisp, smooth edges on rendered objects in games. If true, this will be the biggest PC gaming graphics news since 2016.

As you can see below, there will be both reference and Founders Editions of the cards available. The Predator Orion 3000 series also comes with up to an eighth-gen Core i7, but with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 GPU.

We are expecting to see new gaming graphics cards based on Nvidia's Turing architecture, which surfaced in the first Nvidia Quadro RTX cards announced at SIGGRAPH last week.

With this comprehensive lineup for next generation graphics cards, we are confident that there will be a suitable model for every gamer looking for the next level of performance. It was here that the manufacturer introduced GeForce RTX, next-generation hardware that promises up to six times faster performance than previous generation video cards. Have no doubt, this is a major architectural overhaul for Nvidia; the Turing Streaming Multiprocessor (SM) has a brand new design with the ability to perform independent floating point and integer operations.

It also added that " China's military expresses resolute opposition to this and has lodged stern representations with the U.S. side".

The RTX 2070 will be available in October, and start at $499 USD, with the RTX 2080 at $699 USD, and the RTX 2080 Ti listed for $999 USD. Nvidia showed how the new technology will look in upcoming games including Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Metro Exodus.

But before we go on, ray-tracing for the uninitiated is a rendering technique that traces the path of light rays that illuminates an entire scene; that includes the reflection of reflections in reflections.

What makes the RTX cards special is Nvidia's new Turing architecture, which can render light and shadow effects, or what's called "ray tracing", more realistically than other graphics cards.

The RTX 2070 will include 8GB of vRAM and will have 45T of RTX-OPS, while the standard RTX 2080 moves up to 60T of RTX-OPS, with the top-end RTX 2080 featuring a massive 11GB of vRAM and 78T of RTX-OPS. Huang mentioned that the real-time ray tracing capabilities of the platform was used to build the Star Wars demo that was first revealed back at the Game Developer Conference 2018, before showing it again.
