England v India: second Test, day two

The all-rounder's unbeaten 120, coupled with 93 from Jonny Bairstow, took the hosts to 357-6, a lead of 250.

On Friday, during the rain-affected day two of the second Test, Arjun, who is now in London for a training session with MCC Young Cricketers, helped out the grand staff at Lord's.

The 29-year-old had already proved his worth with the ball by taking two for 19 on Friday, including the prize scalp of India captain Virat Kohli. "I didn´t have that (a Test century) on my radar at the start of the day".

By this point Bairstow was not with him.

Hardik even offered an odd explanation for India's decision to play two spinners.

The only sadness for England was that Bairstow did not reach three figures as well. Virat is now the top-ranked batsman in Test and ODI cricket.

At stumps Woakes and Co.

But England, so often susceptible to collapses, kicked on as Bairstow and Woakes began to look comfortable on a pitch offering far less assistance to the bowlers than on day two.

The Virat Kohli-led side was bowled out for just 107 at Lord's, after the opening day of the match was washed out. All in all this was a chastening day for India.

Trump Calls Omarosa A 'Lowlife' Ahead Of Her Book Release
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders criticized Unhinged as "riddled with lies and false accusations". While she doesn't provide direct evidence, she cites three unnamed sources who attest to the existence of the tape.

Virat Kohli is now in the middle of a run-churning spree owing to his awe-inspiring form in worldwide cricket. Again, not much, but on a pitch such as this runs nearly count double.

On the stroke of lunch, the impressive Shami picked up his second wicket with a ball that kept low and cannoned into Root's pads.

Woakes breezed past his previous Test-best score of 66 and eventually overtook Bairstow. If we had won the toss, we could have had them in the same position. Bairstow (62 not out) in particular looking at ease the longer he was out in the middle. Even with our batting line-up, it has happened many times.

Woakes took six for 70 and five for 32 in a match return of 11 for 102 against Pakistan at Lord´s in 2016.

With Woakes, the first of England's three bowling all-rounders, at the crease alongside Bairstow, India could sense an opportunity to expose the tail.

Sam Curran, the 20-year-old all-rounder who was man of the match at Edgbaston, then came to the party to bowl Dinesh Karthik with a lovely in-swinger.

"I would be so disappointed if I had messed up today because they were ideal conditions to bowl in". Five balls later Jennings " s fellow left-handed opener Alastair Cook (21) was out as well, caught behind off a superb Sharma delivery from around the wicket that squared him up and seamed away before finding the outside edge. "We exploit those conditions as well as anyone in the world". India took the second new ball as soon as it was due, but the players went off due to bad light after just one over. There were no reviews left, but England's most important batsman was out plumb anyway as India roared back into contention. Just before lunch, however, India struck with the vital wicket of the skipper.

The second session will be vital with India still looking to get early wickets to keep England's first-innings lead to a minimum.
