Xiaomi Mi A2 officially launched in India: Price, offers, features and more

The Xiaomi Mi A2 features a 5.99-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2160) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Mi A2 will be available in two variants - 4 GB RAM and 32/64 GB internal storage variant and a little higher price bucket for 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant. The company has announced the Mi 8 in China as their new flagship and it is expected that the phone will launch in India this month.

According to early revelations, the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage of the model will be ideal as the entry point for the new model. On the front, the device has a 20 MP front-facing selfie camera with a selfie flash. Doing away with the screen notch, the phone has an 8MP selfie camera module that pops out on top.

Additionally, Chrom from the Fire Emblem franchise and Dark Samus from the Metroid series were announced as echo fighters . Meanwhile, " Monster Hunter's " fearsome Rathalos will be joining the game as a series-first boss and Assist Trophy .


On the photography front, the Mi A2 features a dual camera setup with on the back comprising of 12MP Sony IMX 486 sensor and 20MP Sony IMX 376. The smartphone also houses a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor with Beautify 4.0, and "Portrait Mode", for selfies. The smartphone bears a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture, coupled with LED flash and PDAF. The AI cameras powered by the processor's NPU are capable of detecting 22 different scenes from 500 different scenarios. The smartphone will cost Rs. 16,999 at launch. The NEX S runs a Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage and has a 4,000mAh battery with fast charge support.

If you've ever looked at the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, which is the best smartphone in its class and one of the best bang-for-buck handsets you could buy, and thought "Hey, it's still not quite worth the money", there's good news. Fortunately, Xiaomi will ship the Mi A2 with a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter. The very popular budget Xiaomi smartphone has been amongst the top selling smartphones across price brackets, both globally and in India, since its launch in China in October a year ago. That's because it runs Android Oreo based Android One platform. Xiaomi Mi A2 is an Amazon-exclusive smartphone and it will also be able via Mi.com. Do note that a user has to pay Rs 16,999 beforehand to make pre-order. Honor Play is the most expensive of the three with its starting price Rs 19,999 going up to Rs 23,999. With this new series of smartphones, Xiaomi has started offering stock Android experience in the country.
