Jose Mourinho told 29-year-old would bring leadership to Man United

Jose Mourinho told 29-year-old would bring leadership to Man United

Mourinho is desperate for a centre-back with Harry Maguire still believed be keen to switch Leicester for the Red Devils, just a year after his £17m move from Hull City.

Mourinho has rounded on the club's hierarchy for failing to sufficiently strengthen in his opinion despite the signings of Brazilian worldwide midfielder Fred and Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot.

For the duration of transfer deadline day, Barcelona's Yerry Mina and André Gomes were reported to be closing in on moves to Merseyside, undergoing medicals amid discussions with the club. But they are a challenger this year, Liverpool. That gives them until 7pm to complete the deal, which is thought to be a season-long loan.

Jose Mourinho has not had the best of times at Manchester United this pre-season.

- Fast start for Liverpool?

Mourinho has had to work with a depleted squad on the back of the 2018 World Cup, while making only minor tweaks in his recruitment drive, with Scholes conceding that a proven performer now finds himself in "a hard position".

The German star has experience playing in the Premier League following a 12-month stint at Manchester City in 2010-11 season before Boateng's move to Bayern.

United finished above them last season. "Nobody is consistent with 11 players". But maybe that is not enough, maybe we need to change certain things.

Chinese exports accelerate as fresh United States tariffs loom
The Trump administration already has a list of $200 billion more in tariffs against China that are under consideration. USTR is conducting a public comment period for those tariffs, which could reach 25 percent, due to end September 5.

Chelsea shattered the world record fee for a goalkeeper with an 80-million euro (£71.6 million, $92 million) swoop for Athletic Bilbao's Kepa Arrizabalaga on Wednesday to replace Belgian worldwide Thibaut Courtois, who has joined European champions Real Madrid.

The Arsenal legend said: "I want this season's title race to be more spicy and I think it will be".

The midfielder, who shone as France won the World Cup in Russian Federation last month, is reported to have told his team-mates he is desperate to leave for Spain. But still, we believe we can do better and dominate more.

It is unclear where he stands at Chelsea under Maurizio Sarri. "They have new players, a good new central defender [Jonny Evans} - they are a hard challenge for us".

Kepa becomes the most expensive goalkeeper of all time.

Perhaps instead, Tottenham should demand to sign Juan Mata in part exchange.

Yet, based on the World Cup performances of Golden Boot victor Harry Kane, Hugo Lloris and Christian Eriksen among others, there is still plenty for Mauricio Pochettino to look forward to.
