Two Elderly Men Escape Nursing Home To Attend Metal Festival

Two elderly men who fled their nursing home were eventually found at one of the biggest heavy metal music festivals in the World.

According to the German news outlet Deutsche Welle, authorities later located the senior headbangers at 3 a.m.at the Wacken Open Air festival, and apparently they were not ready to leave.

Eventually, they were persuaded to leave and police escorted them home with the help of a taxi and a patrol auto.

If Hollywood's not already scrambling to turn this story into a movie they've got absolute rocks in their heads, we tell you.

Whether or not the rebels meant to end up at Wacken Open Air has not been confirmed, but police spokeswoman Merle Neufeld reportedly told public broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk, "They obviously liked the metal festival".

Wacken Open Air festival was first held in 1990 and is now attended by more than 86,000 heavy metal fans.

Per a police statement released to German radio station Norddeutscher Rundfunk, the two elder metalheads "obviously liked the metal festival", but added that the care home quickly organised transport for them and brought them back to the care home - presumably with sore necks from all the headbanging.

The festival was sold out with 75,000 people expected to have attended each of the four days.

Headline acts included Judas Priest, Danzig and Hatebreed.
