It is Android 9 Pie! Official list of changes & new features

Now with a proper name, Pie, the OS is ready for release and is available if you have a Google-branded phone. In any case, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL had surfaced in a number of images thus far, while some additional info also popped up, so we pretty much know what to expect out of the two phones. Also of note is that the Essential Phone is now receiving its update to Android Pie, which is a great move by Essential.

For the rest of Google's devices still seeing updates, we have new Oreo (8.1) files for Nexus 6P (OPM6.171019.030.H1), Nexus 5X (OPM6.171019.030.H1), and Pixel C (OPM4.171019.021.Y1).

For Google, the Android 9 Pie is a major update, even though it doesn't come with significant changes in terms of the user interface. You'll see a Google Search bar and your dock in the Overview as well. For example, Adaptive Battery aims to learn which apps you use the most and prioritize the battery life, so it can maximize power.

For iPhone X clones, Android Pie supports display cutouts.

Young Trump responded "I love it" when first offered the "dirt" on Clinton, the Democratic nominee. I did not know about it!,' he wrote on Twitter Sunday morning.

Those still skeptical over the leak need remember that the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL also launched on 4 October a year ago, so the date does match usual Google plans.

Also coming to Pixel phones this fall is Digital Wellbeing.

Popsicle and Pancake regrets aside (everybody likes pancakes, don't they?), we're obviously excited to hear Pixel phones are looking at over-the-air updates to (stable) Android 9 "starting today", with official Beta program participants from third-party companies set to follow suit soon enough. A Dashboard will show you how much you've been using your phone, while an App Timer will let you set limits on how much you can use an app each day.

Volume controls: Simpler, more accessible volume controls let you control media volume instantly, as well as quickly toggle call and notification volume settings. Swiping up from below brings up the app selection menu and swiping from the bottom to the right takes you to a multitasking screen where you can switch between whatever apps you might have open.
