Tim Allen: Expect centrist 'Last Man,' not vocal Trump fan

'I go way back with Rosie and that's not the Roseanne I know.

The reboot of Roseanne's show was one of the most watched shows on ABC but still the network made a decision to cancel the show saying, "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have chose to cancel her show".

While Tim Allen's Last Man Standing character will remain a conservative when it returns, he won't be giving any pro-Donald Trump monologues. We've gone backwards. There's things you can't say, there's things you shouldn't say. There are things you shouldn't say. Who makes up these rules?' the Last Man Standing actor said, making reference to this year's political climate and adding that she is 'very inclusive and tolerant'. And as a stand-up comic, it's a unsafe position to be in because I like pushing buttons.

On Thursday, Mr. Allen said it was unfortunate that political correctness claimed Ms. Barr's career. "I believe that it was a financial decision on ABC's part". "I think the [character's] a conservative Republican with those ideals".

During the panel, Allen was asked whether his character in "Last Man Standing" is a Trump supporter, to which he replied, "I think the guy is a centrist".

Now Top Dems Are Calling Trump's Tweet About Sessions Obstruction of Justice
Sessions, however, already recused himself past year - handing off oversight to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. In a series of tweets, he said Attorney General Jeff Sessions must halt the inquiry into alleged election meddling.

Comedian Tim Allen spoke out about ABC's decision to fire Roseanne Barr from her namesake show after the comedienne posted a controversial tweet about a former aide of President Barack Obama.

'It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting-it was memorial day too-i went 2 far, ' was one explanation. "Whatever's good for his business and good for the state of Colorado or any policies that he does he's going to go with". Last Man Standing showrunner Kevin Abbott told TCA audiences on Thursday that he doesn't think the show will take a stand on the matter.

"And, I don't know what Roseanne... but, I'm telling you, that's not the woman I know".

In fact, Allen reveals that he and the Last Man writing staff were actually disappointed when Hillary Clinton lost to Trump in the 2016 election... because they had so much material saved up. "We consider ourselves a family show with a traditional character in the center of it".
