Investigators leading the search for missing University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts will be holding a press conference at 9:30 a.m.in Montezuma. He called the fund "another tool in our arsenal", saying his daughter's disappearance will be solved by someone providing information.

It was reported early Wednesday that Mollie Tibbetts, who has been missing since July 18, had potentially been seen eight days later at a Kearney truck stop near Interstate 35 and Highway 92.

"What we're trying to do is shake the tree", said Greg Willey with Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa.

He also made an appeal should someone be holding his daughter.

Hundreds of interviews have been conducted, and now a large reward is being offered for information on her whereabouts. He was working a construction job 100 miles away the night she disappeared.

Investigators, with the help of Federal Bureau of Investigation forensic experts, were tracking Tibbetts' digital footprint.

Family members have urged the public to come forward with any information, "the bottom line is somebody knows something", Tibbetts father, Rob, told Fox News.

Donations have poured in over the past few days and the family is now offering a $172,000 reward for information that will lead authorities to her. "Unfortunately, we have not found Mollie", said Kevin Winker, Director of Investigative Operations for the Iowa Department of Public Safety.

"Tibbetts is 5'2" and approximately 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

The couple chatted via text messages and social media on July 18, just before Tibbetts went out for her evening run which, Jack said, was her regular routine. "We are hopeful that she is still alive and so we will continue to think that way until told otherwise", Rahn told ABC News last week.
