Nvidia might introduce the GTX 1180 on 20 August 2018

Again, this isn't a confirmation of the GTX1180 so don't be surprised if NVIDIA does not announce it during that event!

But also remember that the initial event schedule for the annual Hot Chips processor conference (August 19-21 in Cupertino, California) said that Stuart Oberman, Nvidia's vice president of GPU ASIC engineering, would host a presentation on "Nvidia's Next Generation Mainstream GPU" on August 20 at 11:30 a.m. First out of the door, according to an email to partners leaked last week, will be the GTX 1180, which will replace the popular GTX 1080. With such a release schedule we are pretty sure that Nvidia will be using Gamescom 2018, "the world's biggest gaming expo", to launch the new GTX11 Series. Adding to the curiosity, Nvidia has oddly not specify the exact location of where the event will be held, although logically it will most probably take place around the vicinity of Gamescom 2018 (Cologne, Germany). That's where we'll hear about the new graphics cards, in what Nvidia is describing as a "GeForce Gaming Celebration".

Are you excited for Nvidia's new-gen GPUs? The GTX 1170 is going to perform really well even trumping the GTX 1080Ti so with this we could assume that the GTX 1180 is going to be able to play all games at 4k 60+ FPS ultra settings. And GeForce will loom large there - at our Gamescom booth, Hall 10.1, Booth E-072; at our partners' booths, powering the latest PC games; and at our own off-site GeForce Gaming Celebration that starts the day before [August 20]. "Don't worry, it will be livestreamed", the company says.
