New Fortnite Update Brings Back Guided Missile, Adds Jetpack Game Mode

Fortnite Content Update 5.1 has arrived as version 1.69 on PS4, and it brings the Guided Missile back to Battle Royale alongside the new Fly Explosives limited-time mode. As the name suggests, for a limited time players can take to the skies in a new mode that features the previously-vaulted jetpack and the notoriously overpowered guided missile - though the latter is now toned down to stop it from being a doomsday weapon. In Fly Explosives, the Jetpacks you'll encounter have increased fuel regeneration rate and decreased burn rate, which means you can stay in the sky longer than you'd normally be able to. Likewise, Rocket Ammunition is capped at 120, while between-storm wait times have been reduced as players require time less scavenging time.

The Guided Missiles have only just made their return to the world of Fortnite, thought it was triumphant than what Epic Games was probably hoping for.

Fuse duration reduced from 18 to 15 seconds. Missiles now have a reduced movement speed, higher reload time, lower distance allotment, and dole out much less damage to both players and buildings. In particular, damage done to structures has been reduced from 1100 down to 400. It's a powerful, single shot sniper rifle, with a lot of kickback, but a lot of oomph if it hits.

Take a look below for the full Fortnite 5.10 content update patch notes. Now, with its destructive properties being limited and a cap on rockets, it's more useful for suppression and scouting over eliminating opponents. You stats (ie. K/D ratio and wins) will also be tracked in Fly Explosives mode, so git gud.

Aside from that, a bug that revolved around player nameplates showing while on the opposite team has been fixed.

"Blood Moon" or longest total lunar eclipse of the century this Friday
The fact that the moon appeared so small and took longer to pass through Earth's shadow was also why the eclipse lasted longer. Dr Emily Brunsden, director of the University of York's Astrocampus, added that this eclipse was a "micro blood moon ".

Available in Epic and Legendary variants.

Movement Speed decreased from 1100 to 1000.

Explosions will now damage structures with no regard for the line of sight.

After being removed from the game after Epic found issues with it, the Slurp Juice also make its return for v5.10.

Available Wednesday, August 1 at 8:00 PM ET until Wednesday, August 8 at 8:00 PM ET.
