"I like the golf course, I feel like my game's in really good form, I've got a lot of confidence in it", said Johnson, who tied for second at Glen Abbey in 2013 and 2016. "With my ties to Canada with Paulina and then her dad being Wayne Gretzky, it definitely helps".

"Obviously I have a lot of fans out there thanks to Wayne and the family and I appreciate all the support", said Johnson, who is married to Canadian hockey great Wayne Gretzky's daughter Paulina.

"It takes a lot of work, and a lot of support".

"I know that a birdie on 18 and every shot coming in really meant a lot, because once you get up to the top-five, top-three kind of echelon, the points really ramp up".

"Even after the missed cut last week, I felt like I was hitting it fine", Johnson said. "It's the last time that RBC's going to be here, at Glen Abbey, it's a golf course that I really like, I play well at it".

"I was playing well today and I got a tough break on 11", Hughes said.

South Koreans Kim Whee and An Byeong-hun finished second after they each shot 69.

But Johnson was able get back on track with birdies at the 14th and 15th before rolling in a 23-foot putt at the 16th for an eagle. But he plummeted 42 spots down the leaderboard Sunday, and finished with a double bogey on No. 18, eliciting a groan from the crowd when he hit the ball into the water.

Keegan Bradley carded the round of the day, an eight-under 64 which included an eagle two and a birdie-birdie-birdie finish, to jump up to lone fourth.

PGA Tour Champions: Miguel Angel Jimenez became the first Spaniard to win the Senior British Open, edging defending champion Bernhard Langer by one shot at St. Andrews, Scotland.

The New Zealand golfer Danny Lee has produced his best finish of the PGA Tour season, finishing in a tie for sixth at the Canadian Open in Ontario.

"Definitely wasn't my best day", An said.

He made the most of moving day, sizzling to a 6-under 66 during Saturday's action and mixed six birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey to close Sunday with a 70. "I'm going to have to continue to play well though if I want to be in that number one spot heading into Atlanta for the Tour Championship".

There was a logjam at the top of the leaderboard at the start of the final round with Johnson, An, Kim and Kevin Tway all sitting on 17 under and holding a four-shot advantage over the chasing pack.
