But the Uruguayan midfielder, who played a crucial role at the World Cup, will cost at least £32m.

He was also an integral part of Didier Deschamps' World Cup-winning squad in Russian Federation this summer and The Times claim he has been rewarded with a new deal worth £15million a season over five years. And new manager Thomas Tuchel is understood to keen on taking Kante to the Parc des Princes this summer.

The pocket-sized 27-year-old dynamo - who recovered the ball more often than any other team-mate during the finals in Russian Federation - will earn £290,000 ($380,000, 325,000 euros) a week if he signs the new deal, reported The Times and the London Evening Standard.

He might not be their top earner for long though.

Kante is open to signing a new deal at Chelsea but PSG are willing to increase the Blues' offer and hand him over £300,000-a-week to move to Paris.
