The effect can be seen in the graph above; fewer than half of Republicans now approve of the bureau.

Just 38 percent of voters approve of how Trump handles his job, a Quinnipiac University poll published Tuesday found.

'Whether it is with love or not, President Donald Trump's relationship with Russian Federation has delivered a small blow to his already poor standing with the American people, ' said Peter Brown, who conducted the poll. "They definitely don't want Trump!"

Trump explained that he mixed up "would" and 'wouldn't when speaking about Russia's involvement. It could be some other power, not just Russian Federation. The 89 percent of Republicans who hold this view is the largest percentage agreeing with Trump in the poll.

Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said that though Washington and Moscow agreed there was a need for another Putin-Trump meeting, Russian Federation had not yet begun any practical preparations for a new meeting.

Trump placed a large portion of the blame for the Helsinki summit backlash on the mainstream media outlets Monday, writing, "When you hear the Fake News talking negatively about my meeting with President Putin, and all that I gave up, remember, I gave up NOTHING, we merely talked about future benefits for both countries".

Instead, Americans agree more with the sentiment Trump offered during his news conference with Putin.

Former Ferrari chairman Sergio Marchionne dies aged 66
Long-time Fiat Chrysler , Ferrari and Maserati CEO Sergio Marchionne has died aged 66 due to complications from shoulder surgery. Marchionne had been at Fiat for over a decade and added the title of Ferrari chairman in 2014, replacing Luca di Montezemolo.

He said he had told Mr Putin the USA would not tolerate any future interference in its elections.

"As far as bilateral relations are concerned, I fully agree with [the US Ambassador to the United Nations] Nikki Haley's statement that we are not friends. I think we've all been foolish". "The president gets a split 49 - 47 percent score on the economy, but he receives negative reviews on his handling of a bevy of global problems and especially his relationship with Russian Federation".

The split on the most evocative question of the moment - is Russian Federation blackmailing Trump? - is a lot wider.

For his part, Trump argued that if Russian Federation had compromising information on him "it would have been out long ago". Will Hurd's (R-TX) op-ed in the New York Times Thursday asserting that Trump had "actively participated in a Russian disinformation campaign that legitimized Russian denial [of election interference] and weakened the credibility of the United States to both our friends and foes overseas".

Despite the denials, almost 1 in 5 Republicans still think that Russian Federation does have compromising information on Trump, compared with half of Americans overall.

Twitter users noticed and let the presidential son know they weren't fooled.
