Xiaomi Mi A2 and A2 Lite Launched

The Mi A2 is the successor of the Mi A1, which was the company's first Android One smartphone. The available details of the Lite model are few, but it is expected to be the first Xiaomi budget smartphone to boot stock Android OS. Last year's Xiaomi Mi A1 was a pretty popular mid-range device in terms of performance and hardware. Now, in the month of July 2018, the company has launched the Xiaomi Mi A2 and A2 Lite. Readers must note that the Mi A2 handset is the global variant of the Mi 6X, that was launched in China earlier this year. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor (four 2.2GHz Kyro 260 cores + four 1.8GHz Kyro 260 cores) with Adreno 512 GPU.

On the rear, the Mi A2 has two camera sensors - a primary 12-megapixel f/1.75 lens and another 20-megapixel f/1.75 snapper for depth-sensing. Mi A2 is backed by a 3,010mAh battery.

The Mi A2 is successor to the Mi A1 from previous year, while the Mi A2 Lite is a toned down version of the Mi A2. Both the Xiaomi Mi A2 and A2 Lite have an IPS LCD panel.

The Mi A2 Lite, meanwhile, starts at 179 Euros (roughly Rs 14,437) for the base version with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage going all the way to 229 Euros for the top-end version with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage (roughly Rs 18,470). In terms of optics, the smartphone will likely come with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor within its dual rear camera setup and a 5-megapixel front camera sensor. While Xiaomi's Redmi and Mi series offer MIUI flavor of Android, the Mi A segment is part of the Android One program that delivers the stock Android experience. Coming to the Mi Electric Toothbrush, as the name suggests, it is a smart toothbrush with 31,000 vibrations per minute for high cleaning power accompanied with rounded bristles, IPX 7 water resistance rating and a charge that last for 18 days.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 is priced at 249 euros (~Rs 20,000) for the base 4GB RAM/32GB storage variant, 279 euros (~Rs 22,500) for 4GB/64GB, and 349 euros (~Rs 28,000) for 6GB/128GB.
