FIFA Best Coach of the Year award nominees revealed

England stalwart Lucy Bronze has been shortlisted for the prestigious The Best FIFA Women's Player Award 2018.

Of the ten nominees for the best men's player of 2017/17 season, five are from La Liga, four hail from the Premier League and one from Ligue 1, with the Bundesliga having no representation whatsoever.

Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is the favourite to lift this year's award and defend his title from last year after becoming the first manager in history to win the UEFA Champions League three years in a row.

A host of national team coaches have been selected in the nomination process in the wake of their exploits in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Diego Simeone took Atletico Madrid to Europa League glory, the Spanish side beating Marseille 3-0 in France.

Alongside those three on the list are World Cup winning coach Didier Deshamps, Croatia's Zlatko Dalic, Russia's Stanislav Cherchesov, England's Gareth Southgate and Belgium's Roberto Martínez.

The final three nominees will be announced on a date yet to be announced by Federation Internationale de Football Association with winners likely to be announced in London on 24 September.
