Microsoft teases new 'hardware and accessory' announcements for Gamescom

Even though it feels like E3 2018 just ended, we'll soon be onto our next big gaming conference of the year: Gamescom.

GERMANY'S GAMESCOM is usually a showcase for, you know, er, games, but Microsoft will apparently reveal new Xbox hardware at the event.

An educated guess on one of the headlining new accessories which will be launched is the Xbox Elite controller successor. It will host a special episode of Inside Xbox which will be broadcast live from its Xbox booth in the Koelnmesse.

But the prevailing rumor is Microsoft will reveal its next iteration of the popular Xbox Elite controller.

Xbox to Announce New Hardware at Gamescom

A live stream event is promise for 3.30pm BST on Tuesday, August 21, which is likely to be where the new accessories and bundles will be shown off for the first time.

Microsoft also confirmed that it will hold another Xbox FanFest during Gamescom, which will take place on the evening of August 23.

Games. "Save on over 700 Xbox games and add-on packs including popular titles like State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves, Far Cry 5, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Fortnite: Save the World Founders Pack, and more". Should they have a brand new console in the near (ish) term, they may alienate the die-hard fans who've bought the newer Xbox One X, though savvy consumers would now that they - like PS4 Pro owners - bought a stop-gap system.
