What Can Chelsea Fans Expect From Maurizio Sarri?

Conte leaves amid reports in the British and Italian media that former Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri will take over at Chelsea for next season.

Chelsea have officially parted company with Antonio Conte, and the statement about his departure is truly embarrassing considering his stint at Stamford Bridge.

"During Antonio's time at the club, we won our sixth league title and eighth FA Cup".

'We wish Antonio every success in his future career'.

Chelsea are also closing in on their first major summer signing of the transfer window, with Napoli midfielder Jorginho set to follow his former manager to the Premier League club.

Leaving Stamford Bridge was always the likely outcome for Conte following a season in which Chelsea missed out on Champions League qualification after a fifth-place league finish, 30 points behind champion Manchester City.

Antonio Conte's dismissal at Chelsea surprised nobody.

Trump, May show united front after candid tabloid interview
In an interview with the newspaper The Sun , published late Thursday, he undercut Prime Minister Theresa May on several fronts. Donald Trump has arrived at Chequers and appears to be on the charm offensive after his explosive interview.

Sarri would be the 12th managerial appointment by Chelsea, permanent or otherwise, since Abramovich acquired the club in 2003 and they have not come or gone cheaply. "Great man, Great manager".

As he was still in the final year of a three-season contract, Conte is due a £9m payoff which the club will contest.

The Italian's main gripe for the past year was Chelsea's failure to land the signings he really wanted for its Premier League title defence.

There was concern at the club that if Conte stayed then star players could try to leave, including Real Madrid target Eden Hazard.

In May, Napoli appointed Carlo Ancelotti to replace Sarri amid speculation that the latter could take the Chelsea job.

Giovanni Martusciello, who is now the technical collaborator of Inter Milan, has reportedly turned down the chance to join Maurizio Sarri's coaching staff at Chelsea.

The chain smoking former Empoli manager - who will have to restrain himself on the touchline in England where smoking is banned - was named Serie A Coach of the Year in 2016-17.
