Trump greeted with protests during first United Kingdom visit

Shrugging off the plans for mass protests, which on Friday will include a giant baby-shaped blimp bearing Trump's features, he said in Brussels: "They like me a lot in the UK".

A high fence has been erected around the U.S. ambassador's central London residence where Trump will spend Thursday night and the embassy has sent out an alert warning Americans in London to keep a low profile in case protests turn violent.

Some cited "job restrictions" while another said he was wary of the press.

She listed Mr Trump's immigration policies, bans on some people entering the U.S., his foreign policies, and lack of support for taking action on climate change as having affects across the globe.

Another man, who did not wish to give his name, said: "It was very complimentary to England and to the allies that we have, very positive".

Protesters hold placards during a demonstration outside Winfield House, the London residence of US ambassador Woody Johnson, on Thursday.

"Maybe they're taking a little bit of a different route [on Brexit], so I don't know if that's what they voted for", he told a press conference after the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels.

"Numerous demonstrations are being planned for July 12 to 14, 2018, surrounding the visit of the President of the United States to the United Kingdom", the U.S. embassy said in the alert on its website. A lot of people like me there.

"The people voted to break it up but maybe they're taking a little bit of a different route, so I don't know if that's what they voted for", he said. "I think he is a great representative for your country".

The petition against Trump claimed an official state visit would be embarrassing for the Queen.

Contractor hit gas main before explosion that killed firefighter, hurt 12 others
Multiple videos from the area show that the explosion turned a section of Sun Prairie into a smoldering, burning hazard area. The firefighter who died has been with the department at least 10 years, Sun Prairie Fire Chief Christopher Garrison said.

Mr Trump with meet with UK Prime Minister Theresa May and the Queen.

After his highly-(un) anticipated trip to the UK, Trump is scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki next week.

"And when I say that I am talking about government because the people of the United Kingdom agree with me", Trump added of being made to feel unwelcome. The EU better be careful.

"I think it changed the fabric of Europe and, unless you act very quickly, it's never going to be what it was and I don't mean that in a positive way".

Prime Minister May has abundant reasons to seek a close relationship with Mr. Trump - not least, the United States will be an even more vital trade partner once Britain leaves the European Union next year - but it is an uneasy embrace, given her opposition to many of his key policies. I would actually say that she probably went the opposite way.

There are also plans for protestors to gather close to the USA ambassador's residence in Regent's Park, where Trump and his wife, Melania, will stay overnight on Thursday.

Other protests - including several "family friendly" gatherings - will take place at every place he will visit over the coming days. Extra security was put in place ahead of a number of planned protests, the BBC reported. "They trust us with stuff on intelligence", he said.

"Now more than ever we have a responsibility to stand up for our values and ensure our voice is heard around the world", he wrote in London's Evening Standard newspaper.

Dick said: "Later today we have a visiting head of state from across the pond". "They all made commitments, and they will be up to 2 percent over a relatively short period". "The fact that something so blatantly mocking and disrespectful to the most powerful man in the world would be permitted to fly in the air whilst he is visiting a foreign country speaks legions to her about how her husband's presidency is viewed internationally".

After landing at Stansted Airport, the US President is set to fly to the US Ambassador's residence by helicopter, where he will stay the night.
